Jewellery Care

General Care Instructions

We do our best to source the best quality jewellery at an affordable price point. We test our jewellery in all sort of ways (including putting it through the washing machine and dishwasher...) to make sure it's a product worth buying. That said, here are some points to consider!

The gold plating on jewellery will fade over time, and this fading will be accelerated by friction and/or if the jewellery comes into contact with water. Of course, pieces such as rings that are worn daily will fade faster, but necklaces and earrings tend to last longer.

Remove jewellery when going to sleep, when undertaking labour intensive activities or when coming into contact with water, especially chlorinated water.

In addition, please avoid contact with perfume and chemicals, including skin, hair and makeup products.

When it’s not being used, store jewellery in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Keep jewellery in its original packaging or a suitable pouch to prevent pieces rubbing and scratching against one another.

Use a lint-free cloth for light cleaning. Never use chemical jewellery cleaners. Gently rub gold-plated jewellery with a dry, clean, lint-free and soft cloth to polish it to a shine. Do not press hard as this may cause damage to the surface of the bangle. It is recommended to wipe clean jewellery after each wear to remove any makeup, skin products or natural skin oils that it may have come into contact with.
Plated jewellery may not be the best option if you have extremely sensitive skin, in which case you might want to consider wearing pure gold, gold-filled or sterling silver pieces.
